PE staff from Oxford Spires Academy take on the National Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for their school

The impressive PE staff at Oxford Spires Academy climbed Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon all within 24 hours.

The Pe team from  Oxford Spires Academy, started the summer holidays with a challenge as they took on the National Three Peaks Challenge on July 25th.

But their remarkable endeavour was not just about conquering the peaks, it was also about making a lasting impact on their students' educational journey by raising money for the school.

The funds raised from this challenge will be used to enhance the PE department at Oxford Spires, bringing to life inspiring wall art and providing additional equipment for our students.

Craig Green, who organised the trip, said: “By taking part in this challenge, we are showcasing to our students how impactful PE can be and demonstrating our motto of ‘Sport for all for life’.

“Thank you to everyone who has supported our Three Peaks Challenge fundraiser so far! Your generosity is helping us bring inspiring new wall art and additional equipment to the Oxford Spires Academy PE department.”

Louise Cowley, headteacher of Oxford Spires Academy, said: “I am immensely proud of our dedicated PE department for taking on the Three Peaks challenge.

“I am so inspired by our team's passion and dedication to enriching the lives of our students. Their commitment exemplifies the heart and spirit of Oxford Spires Academy.

“Our commitment is to showcase the transformative power and impact of physical education and to live by our motto: ‘Sport for all for life.’”
