Become a Trustee

Our Trustees are responsible for holding Anthem’s leadership to account. They ensure clarity of vision and strategic direction, hold each school to account for its educational performance and ensure that financial resources are allocated effectively and deliver maximum value.

The role of Trustee is voluntary, requiring a minimum commitment of one term of service, lasting four years, with the option to continue for an additional four-year term. Trustees attend a combination of full board and committee meetings, and visits to schools.

Trustee Inclusion Champion

We are continually looking for individuals with diverse backgrounds and skills to bring professional challenge to our board, and we are actively recruiting for a Trustee who will be responsible for SEND and Inclusion.

We invite all interested individuals to make an initial expression of interest to Anthem’s Governance Manager, Pippa Truman Davies, via email at governance@anthemtrust.uk. Following which a further conversation can be held with a member of our current Board of Trustees or Executive Team, to understand more about Anthem’s ethos and the role.

Become an Anthem Community Council Member

Make a difference in your community...

At Anthem, we have changed the way governance works in our schools, replacing traditional governing bodies with Anthem Community Councils. This is where local people come in... We need local expertise and partnerships, to ensure each school's individual context is known, understood, and celebrated - and is at the heart of its community.

By volunteering as a Community Council member at your local Anthem school, you can help shape the lives of young people in your area.

What’s in it for you?

Anthem Community Councils (ACCs) are local advisory committees, not local governing boards. So, Anthem Community Council members are not ‘governors’ in the traditional sense. Instead, they have the freedom to focus on providing local feedback, assurance and connection, and reflecting the ‘lived experience’ of students, parents, staff and the community.

As an Anthem Community Council member, you get to play an essential role in shaping the education children need without spending hours discussing budgets, boilers and bureaucracy!

Do you want to make a difference?

If you are passionate about contributing to your community and are interested in finding out more about being part of your school’s ACC, we would love to hear from you!
