Anthem Volunteer of the Year Award, Winners 2024

During National Volunteer Week, we are thrilled to recognise the outstanding contributions of our dedicated volunteers who enhance our school communities.

This year, we are proud to announce the Anthem Volunteer of the Year Award winners:

  • Governance Volunteer Award: Roger Gale, The Deepings School
  • School Volunteer Award: Sinéad Burke, Abacus Belsize Primary School

Roger Gale

Roger Gale's recognition as the Governance Volunteer of the Year is a testament to his unwavering commitment and significant contributions across our schools. Multiple nominations highlighted Roger's exceptional qualities as both a Chair and Member of the ACC. His involvement extends beyond The Deepings School, impacting various secondary and primary schools within Anthem through Governance and Disciplinary Committees (GDCs). Roger's generosity with his time and steadfast support for the schools, staff, and wider community have been particularly noted. His role in implementing sustained improvements while always prioritizing the schools' best interests is commendable.

Congratulations, Roger! Your relentless support and invaluable contributions to our governance work across schools are deeply appreciated.

Sinéad Burke

Sinéad Burke's recognition as the School Volunteer of the Year highlights her extraordinary efforts in making Abacus a more positive and welcoming place for everyone. Sinéad’s numerous nominations reflect her high value to the Abacus community. She has transformed the school's outdoor space and continually galvanizes the PTA, giving her time and effort selflessly.

Sinéad volunteers for all school trips, acts as a liaison for parents, organizes PTA events and fundraisers, and arranges donations and purchases for the school. Her social and friendly demeanor provides immense support to staff and children alike. Her tireless efforts in the gardening club, planting, and arranging for new equipment have significantly enhanced our school grounds. She even coordinated with a local nature group to make further improvements.

Abacus is a better place because of you, Sinéad. Thank you for your unwavering dedication and for making such a significant difference in the school community!
